Structural Balancing Explained — A Modern Approach to Clinical Bodywork

Structural Balancing is a comprehensive two-part education system designed to elevate how massage therapists see, understand, and treat the body. Rooted in fascia science, neuromuscular function, and integrated manual therapy, this approach teaches you to assess postural imbalance, trace patterns of dysfunction, and create measurable, lasting change for your clients.

Through clear instruction, live demonstrations, and guided hands-on practice, you learn to observe the body globally, recognizing how imbalance travels through the fascial network, influences movement, and shapes pain patterns. Each course blends anatomy, postural logic, structural assessment, and practical application, with techniques drawn from myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, PNF, active and passive release work, movement-based protocols, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization.

Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, Structural Balancing trains you to think systemically and intervene with intention.

The curriculum strengthens clinical reasoning, refines touch, and supports more precise, confident treatment.

Structural Balancing 1 is a deep dive into structural Integrative principals, assessments, and technique. 


Structural Balancing 2 advances into asymmetry, rotation, torsion, pelvic mechanics, and cervical balance.

Structural Balancing 1   (16 Continuing Education Credits)

Structural Balancing 1 teaches massage therapists how to assess and treat global front-to-back imbalances across the coronal plane. The course blends fascia science, neuromuscular principles, and hands-on technique to give you a clear framework for understanding how structural restrictions influence posture and pain.

You learn to evaluate fascial restrictions, identify agonist–antagonist imbalance, and understand how compensatory patterns develop in gravity. Training includes live body reading, the Three Minute Manual Assessment, and four hands-on modules covering the posterior axial skeleton, posterior leg and adductors, anterior leg and psoas sequence, and thorax, sternum, and cervical integration.

Throughout the course, you practice integrating myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, PNF, active and passive release, movement-assisted techniques, and instrument-assisted work. The structured Search Pattern builds clear clinical reasoning, helping you identify and address the root contributors to flexion bias, extension bias, anterior pelvic tilt, lumbar lordosis, and other coronal plane dysfunctions.

This course builds the foundation for advanced clinical work in Structural Balancing 2.

Structural Balancing 2  (16 Continuing Education Credits)

Structural Balancing 2 builds on the foundation of Structural Balancing 1 by shifting focus from front-to-back patterns to global left-to-right imbalances across the sagittal plane. This advanced course trains you to identify and correct asymmetry, torsion, and rotation, three key drivers of chronic dysfunction.

You learn to assess and treat pelvic dysfunctions, including rotations, upslips, and torsions. These patterns often present as uneven weight bearing, unilateral muscular dominance, shoulder girdle asymmetry, and cervical imbalance. The course blends advanced body reading with targeted palpation and integrated manual therapy, helping you follow deeper compensatory patterns and understand how the body adapts to imbalance.

You refine your use of myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, PNF, active release, movement-assisted techniques, and instrument-assisted work, applying them within a more complex structural framework. Emphasis is placed on pelvic and cervical balancing, two regions that strongly influence full-body alignment and persistent pain patterns.

Structural Balancing 2 gives you the tools to create lasting structural change and confidently address the asymmetrical patterns that drive client discomfort.
